Marmande heirloom tomatoes

All four seeds germinated and are doing well even with overcast skies. Don't have growing lights, perhaps next season I will be able to set something up in the covered porch.

Purple Broccoli

April 12, purple broccoli has done well given that I left them outdoors for 3 nights. Plan to transfer them into their own pots instead of pinching them off. Before and after pics are below.

Yikes

Left my mini greenhouse outdoors for 4 days and 3 nights. Finally had courage to see if any seedlings survived. Most look good but the peppers have not germinated, soil looks quite dry. I will bring them in tonight if I don't forget!

The evolving garden

On April 3 and 4 we were busy planting purple broccoli, cucumber, bell pepper, hot Peruvian peppers, a variety of tomatoes, and lastly eggplant. Today I noticed that the broccoli planted on April 4 has germinated (2.5 days is all it took!!). I placed the potted seeds in a mini greenhouse that consisted of clear plastic bin and placed this greenhouse outside every morning and brought it in at sunset and had them sleep next to heater in my daughter's room where temp is kept 70F. can't wait to see what happens tomorrow.

Tomatillos

I changed the location of my seedlings. I moved them near window and that has produced some good results. I don't have much space so I can't really plant much more. Will plan to plant some cucumbers and some cherry tomatoes this week. We are behind planting schedule but we might be moving to new town and I always lose all my plants every year we move. The tomatillos will come no matter what. I hate having to pay 2.99 a pound. I was so use to paying 3 pounds for a dollar.

Sienna's tomatillos

The heat from the 3 hours of sun is enough to germinate 80% of my old tomatillo seeds. Lack of sun or light source has made seedlings leggy but no worries, I will plant them deeper when I transplant them next month.

Tomatillo Seedling Day 3

The seedling made its appearance on March 1. This is what it looks like on day 3.

No sign of any other seeds germinating. We will start another batch. We need at least three seedlings if we want to see any fruit this summer.
